Case Study: Jackson Lees
With headquarters in Liverpool, Jackson Lees part of MAPD Group are a legal services firm working on behalf of both personal & commercial clients. Historically the Group has grown through acquisition into a 280 employee firm with coverage throughout the North West.
Throughout 2021 Jackson Lees embarked on a technology upgrade of its core systems to a new Managed Service provider, a refresh that could be said to have been long overdue.
Part of this project was a review of the end point infrastructure and how the firm could transition to an agile, mobile working environment fit for the demands of “hybrid working”.
Andy Wallace, Head of IT
“Adopting an agile working strategy based around deploying laptops was a critical part of our thinking. We were keen to learn from InnoVent’s experience working with other legal firms how this strategy would work in practice.”
Recognising that laptops would be core to their strategy, acquiring 280 new ones would be a significant investment on top of the other costs incurred to get Jackson Lees infrastructure future-proof.
Working through the various options with MAPD COO Joanna Kingston-Davies & Jackson Lees Head of IT, Andy Wallace it became evident that InnoVent’s 2nd Life laptop as a service proposition fitted the firm’s needs.
Cost effective with a 45% saving over new laptops
Fixed quarterly payments to spread the cost
A disciplined refresh strategy to manage the equipment lifecycle
Lease Asset Management through InnoVent’s proprietary iClams System
A sustainable solution of reuse that matches the firms Circular Economy ethos
In order to support the flexible working needs of Jackson Lees staff, InnoVent supplied fully refurbished HP laptops with docking stations and new monitors.
All supported by InnoVent over a 3-year period on a single subscription achieving Jackson Lees goals in taking the administrative hassle away of managing multiple supplier arrangements. Taking advantage of Microsoft's powerful AutoPilot service, InnoVent successfully met Jackson Lees Go Live deadline.
Joanna Kingston-Davies: COO, MAPD Group
“We’re delighted to partner with InnoVent as part of the implementation of our agile working strategy.
One of the MAPD Group businesses, The Jackson Lees Group (Jackson Lees and Broudie Jackson Canter) has recently upgraded its cloud-based infrastructure and it was vital to ensure that we had the appropriate kit to allow all of our people to work flexibly and remotely on tech that fully supports our new platform on the move -whether in the office, at home or elsewhere.
For us, the variety of solutions InnoVent are able to offer affords us the flexibility we need and our choice to go with second life, fully refurbished kit aligns really closely to our MAPD ethos of Making a Positive Difference to our planet.”
